Balloon Boy creates a trend, just in time for the holidays

It seems Falcon Heene's Flight of Icarus, Around the World in 80 minutes PR stunt hasn't left headlines yet.

According to the New York Times, we have some true idiocracy as this kid has inspired Halloween costumes. Yes, way.

The news that a Canadian company is already selling a Balloon Boy costume for Halloween, just days after millions of people around the world were concerned for the safety of a 6-year-old boy said to be in mortal danger, is a measure of how rapidly the Heene family drama, played out live on 24/7 cable news, moved from tragic to comic.

So sweet. I believe this is the way to NOT get that certain someone's attention at the office costume party.

And for those trolls not fashionable enough to pull this off and would rather keep their face entrenched in the balmy glow of their computer monitor, people who have waaaaaaaaay too much time on their hands (while chilling in their parents garage) have developed something for you too...

The Balloon Boy online game (courtesy of the NY Daily News) Again, yes, way. Unfortunately.

"We saw the incident happening on TV last week and decided to make a game," said [game creator Jude] Gomila, who's based in San Francisco. "It took us about six hours and we launched it out to our friends on Twitter."

At least now I found a reason for my 8.0 hours of peculiar "administrative" time. Good times.
