Live from SXSW Interactive: Full of Macaroni, Ready for More Content
Rachel, Mark and I just had lunch with our colleagues Scott Carter and Erica Burnett at Moonshine. We are stuffed and sleepy but primed for our next sessions. Currently Rachel, Erica and I are waiting for the "Content Strategy FTW" session to begin while Mark is in the "Moon 2.0" session.
Our 12:30 p.m. panel prior to lunch, "The Right Way to Wireframe" was somewhat of a contradiction to the theme we are experiencing, which is, "Hey goofballs, you forgot about content and design." While it was nice to see the wireframing work of other UX designers, I felt it missed the mark with too much of a focus on prototyping... and the proof of concept that was shown, the final design based on all this prototyping, was unfortunately so uninspiring that it negated the extensive research and testing that supposedly went into the prototyping... which is a huge red flag to me.
We're hoping for a course correction in Content Strategy FTW. Kristina Halvorson, CEO and Founder of Brain Traffic in Minneapolis (@halvorson), author of Content Strategy for the Web, is off to a wonderful start with a comparison to Wall-E.
More to come.
