Live from SXSW Interactive: Web Helps Those Who Help Themselves
I like our design and development process. I don't love it. I'd take our design and development process to an occasional casual lunch to catch up. I wouldn't run away with our design and development process on a romantic weekend to woo it into making tiny little design and development process babies.
The last few days it's become evident that, within our existing process, there is much room for improvement when it comes to the way we approach content.
Today, it seems we may learn there is just as much room for improvement regarding our design approach. We are eight minutes and counting from "Your Design Process is Killing You." We have just been handed several colors of markers. Could be interesting.

I believe we are being encouraged to play with semi-automatic marshmallow shooters. Waiting for the dots to be connected.

We've all written our best business idea and worst start-up idea on a sheet of paper and passed it up to the front. I can't repeat what I wrote for worst start-up idea. It appears we are breaking into groups. Uh-oh.

Mass exodus occurs when the word "ideate" is used too much and the panel attempts to bring a small-group participatory exercise to a ballroom of 500 people. It's unfortunate because this same group is scheduled for our 3:30 session and it has dashed our hopes for an introspective afternoon examining our way of thinking. Fortunately we are already fairly introspective, but thus is the SXSW conundrum: sometimes the magic we hoped for just has to be made ourselves.
