"... yet another example of the decline of journalism as we once knew it."
Where does journalism cross the line into TMZ entertainment?
Dale Hansen believes that WFAA crossed that line last night.
As it turns out, Jerry Jones + alcohol + a video phone = a PR practitioner with a migraine.
WFAA's news director decided to run the footage of the public Dallasite. Hansen said no.
Let the struggle begin.
The station ran it any way and Hansen (signature included during his rant) was angry.
"Jerry Jones in a bar, being Jerry Jones, is not news to me," said Hansen. "And the fact that some creep slides up to Jones, records the conversation without Jones knowing, then tries to sell that recording - and that becomes news - is an embarrassment to us all.
So, where do you stand on the fine line of public officials and fair journalism? Did he make a valid point? Or, was Hansen's rant just a rant?
