Let's Make a Movie!
Google and You Tube have teamed up to launch Life in a Day, "a historic cinematic experiment that will attempt to document one day, as seen through the eyes of people around the world."
The day in question: Saturday, July 24.
On that day, we have been asked to record something from the 24-hour span.
The website said,"You can film the ordinary -- a sunrise, the commute to work, a neighborhood soccer match, or the extraordinary -- a baby’s first steps, your reaction to the passing of a loved one, or even a marriage."
Oscar-winning director Kevin Macdonald (you may know him from The Last King of Scotland, Touching the Void and One Day in September) will edit the most compelling footage into a feature documentary film.
It will premiere at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and those who make the final cut will be credited as co-director and could be one of 20 contributors selected to attend the premiere.
How cool is that?
It'll be interesting to see what footage is submitted, and if the real-life, collection of accounts will outshine the Hollywood luster.
