The Eye of the Tiger may have Glaucoma

Anyone heard from Tiger Woods lately? Yeah, most have that answer: 'Um, no?!'

Unless of course you are his PR firm or trolling on Twitter.

Apparently, the intersection of publicity and social media have collided in El Tigre's life resounding in a colossal fart-and-fall-down moment.

And why?

If you ask ABC News (via AP), it's not because his golf game sucks but rather, his personality:

The problem isn’t just that Woods is perceived as an aloof phony interested only in padding his still hefty bank account…The real problem is that he’s not remotely interesting unless he’s winning golf tournaments.

And until he does that again, no media blitz is going to make him palatable to the public again. Unfortunately for Woods, his game is about as messed up as his reputation.

Let's see, if I needed a reputation management campaign and wanted to use viral means to manage it, would I opine things like:

Yep, it’s me. I think I like this twitter thing. You guys are awesome. Thanks for all the love.

I know, breathtaking, right? What about:

The best part about phone interviews is getting to wear shorts.

Man, riveting. Twain, King, Fitzgerald? Suck it. There's a new great in the literary ranks.

Although Tiger has more than 250,000 followers, he isn't doing much to deserve the gaggle of Tweeps now. He's done a media blitz and tried to do that Twitter thing. Now what?

If you ask Tim Dahlberg, sports columnist of this introspective story on Eldred, it's simple:

Stop writing articles. Give up on the tweets. Blow off the radio shows.

And start practicing your putting.

Just like the advice we have provided for a few of our partners: "Sometimes, the answer is to do what got you there. And then do it better."

Only give up the tweets. I don't think there's any doing those better. Just sayin'.
