Why do you ride?

This is the question we asked of Greyhound and Peter Pan Bus Lines' customers in the latest "Uncommon Transport" campaign, which was launched last month.

“Uncommon” not only describes the pleasant experience of Greyhound and Peter Pan bus travel, it describes the mix of passengers on board – no two passengers are alike; no two destinations are identical. But all of these journeys are bound together by the uncommonly pleasant experience of Greyhound and Peter Pan, if we do say so ourselves.

This is the premise of the most recent campaign where HCK2 created five unique passengers and wove their reasons for travel into all marketing outreach efforts, with an invitation for the audience to identify with one of the personas.

The second part of the campaign was to turn the cameras on our riders and ask them to share a story, photo or video of “why they ride”.

As the website states: "Your bus ride is more than just a hop from point A to point B. Our buses take you to work and to play, to friends and to family, to cities you love and back where you live. There's a unique story in every seat on every bus in our fleet, and we want to know them all."

By entering, each customer has the chance to win one of the five prizes below. One lucky person will win could even win the $1,000 grand prize. Sweet, right?

HCK2's creative and interactive team retooled the campaign website to include passenger stories, photography and contest entry. Advertising elements entailed online and outdoor mediums. The campaign is currently running strong in the Northeast – including such markets as Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Baltimore.

Wanna go for a ride? Share with us your story and you too could have the chance to win!

How's that for giving back?
