The Return of HCK2 INTERNally: Meet Nina Lopez
It's been a good year for our interns. In fact, Melanie Cornell worked to impress people so much (which is to say she cleaned my car a few times a month) that she got a permanent gig here at HCK2. Well, now that new business has been coming in, so has another lovely PR intern.
Meet Nina Lopez, the latest addition to the HCK2 PR family. In our best Edward R. Murrow impression, we sat Nina down (which is to say we pushed her in her chair, chained her to the desk and forced her to answer us... yeah, we know how to treat 'em) and wanted to get to know her better.
Nina? That is your name, right? Okay. Um, why PR?
My background is in advertising and marketing, but I have worked on the PR side of the industry for more than a year now. I love making clients look good and I feel I can do that more effectively in PR.
That's great. Why did we hire you again?
I am tenacious. I'm always searching for new ways to enhance a client's reputation, which I know will mesh with HCK2's impressive reputation for making clients the center of attention.
(Suck up.) UM... Stick up! Yeah, your answer. Stick up. Yeah. Soooooo. Your Twitter profile says you dig arts and crafts. You don't look like you play Bingo on the weekends. What gives?
I love arts and crafts, scrapbooking and cooking. They help me stay focused on all the small details that come with any new client. I'm also able to develop a sequence of steps and recipes for what's ahead. I suppose you can say that I'm prepared and always up for a challenge.
Company gal, ain't ya? Good job. Let's see. Ready for a zinger?
*GULP*
Good girl. Tell us three things your mother would be embarassed to know... that no one really knows about you.
First, I'm a huge soap fan.
Sorry? As in kissy-face barf fests on morning TV?
That's them. I even host daytime Emmy parties at my house and have friends and family members dress up for the occassion.
Oh. Um, cute. Kinda like playing with Barbies only not. Great. Moving on?
I am a borderline "neat freak". I love organization so much that I'll even unfold towels and other laundry in my home just to neatly fold them all over again. Insane, I know.
Ya' think? I MEAN... no, not at all. And the third thing?
I have already lived out my childhood dream.
(Oh, this should be good.)
No, really. I always wanted to become a veterinarian. In middle school, I nursed my kitten back to health after it was run over in our driveway. It wasn't pretty. I looked after little "Tiger" until his wounds were healed, and he was able to eat on his own.
* PAUSE *
Are you there?
Um, yes. Sorry. Had a little something in my eye. I just needed a little tissue to get that out. Apologies. Welp. That's uh, great. Innocent interns and now baby kittens?! That's just not fair. Thanks, Nina. Bonne Chance at HCK2.
(Editor's Note: There may have been some liberties taken with her questionnaire. We're not sure.)
