The Spooky Halloween Rangers Jinx

Last night was a house of horrors if you watched the Rangers game. Errors, runs and comebacks, oh my! And then, comes the age-old superstition of the Great Game. Just about everyone who loves baseball believes in the jinx.

It's a big player in MLB. Some players only wear their socks a certain way or go the same way to the ballpark. Others risk the funk by wearing the same undershirt or only eating the same thing before games. Whatever the schtick, players and fans alike take this jinx thing seriously.

And then, shortly before the Rangers appeared to win their first World Series, KDFW fans get the enclosed tweet that appeared on my phone. It was more gruesome than Jason returning for his... 29th movie?

I checked my DVR to make sure I was caught up. I checked another TV and interrupted a recorded episode for Grey's Anatomy from the missus (and that's a nasty blog post on its own). I called a few folks.

When I realized the panic was as real as the text, I freaked. What in the world was going on? Were the Mayans returning early? Was I caught up in an alien abduction? Or, did someone hit 'send' a touch too early at FOX 4?

Alas, there it was. Premature Gesticulation. Someone got happy and shot a text heard 'round the Metroplex. Now, we know the sad news - said text wasn't correct and Nostradamus wasn't its scribe.

Stranger things have happened this close to Halloween, but let's hope when we come back on All Hallows Eve, we have a more BOO-tiful outcome. (Yeah, I typed that. Don't judge.)
