HCK2’s All-Female Leadership Team Finds Fulfillment as Mother’s AND Executives
As a PR and Marketing Agency with an all-female leadership team, we attract a lot of female employees, many of whom are working moms. Our industry is traditionally female-dominated, but our core value of “living a balanced life” uniquely attracts women who want to be both mothers and leaders.
Recently, headlines were flooded with responses – both positive and negative – to the commencement speech given by Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker in which he stated that women “have had the most diabolical lies told to you” about finding fulfillment through careers because his wife found happiness as a wife and mother.
While we support Butker’s wife in her choices, we believe no one should dictate how another finds fulfillment. At HCK2, we support women who wish to experience all facets of life that bring them excitement, joy and challenge.
We’re a woman-owned business and that woman, Heather Capps, also happens to be a working mom. Although her kids are grown now, when she acquired the business she was a working single mom with two elementary-aged daughters. Heather understands how a little flexibility in the workplace can make a huge difference to working parents and other employees with responsibilities outside the office, whether that’s caring for sick or elderly family members or even taking care of a “fur baby.”
We value the perspectives women and working moms bring to our team. By offering work-life balance, we attract and retain skilled individuals who might feel unsupported elsewhere due to family commitments. Our core value of “balanced life” enhances enthusiasm and dedication, which shines through in our work.
Life doesn’t fit neatly into a 9-to-5 schedule, so we foster a culture accommodating the diverse needs of our team members. Whether through flexible hours, remote work, or pet-friendly policies, we support each individual’s unique journey.
HCK2’s values are simple: talent should never be restricted because of responsibilities at home.
Whether someone wants to be a stay-at-home parent or a working one, we’ve created a culture at HCK2 that allows employees to find fulfillment in both parenthood and career. Through our core values, we celebrate the contributions that women make – to the workplace and the home – everyday.
