Don’t Forget About the Importance of Account Management

I read a great article in Advertising Age this morning that spoke to the importance of account management, illustrated some great examples of stewards of our division and reminded me (and hopefully all of you) of just what, and why we do it!

There was also a great quote from one of the readers – Cindy from NYC –

“Orchestration is about building the relationship and creating the environment that facilitates trust, confidence and receptivity for the best and most effective work. In fact, I would describe account men/women as the ultimate entrepreneurs. Wikipedia lists the definition of an entrepreneur as ‘An entrepreneur is a person who has possession over a company, enterprise, or venture, and assumes significant accountability for the inherent risks and the outcome.’ That’s exactly what great account people do. They take overall responsibility for the venture that is the agency’s business contract with a particular client, and they work their socks off to create a favorable outcome through absolutely everything that can be thrown at them (and frequently is).”

As an account director at HCK2 Partners I truly believe that our clients receive superior customer service, best practices, proven insights and thought-provoking ideas. Sure, maybe I’m a bit biased, but it’s our job to work painstakenly to understand the needs our clients, serve as their champion and be an entrepreneur on their behalf. It is for that reason we consider account management so crucial to supporting any client that calls HCK2 a partner.
