United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
Environmental Signage Design
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the federal agency for granting U.S. patents and registering trademarks, was finishing a remodel of a historical building in Dallas, so they enlisted VAI Architects who partnered with HCK2 to develop 14 thematic locations throughout the office. Patents have been around for hundreds of years and play an important role in our history. HCK2 was happy to help in the restructuring of the Dallas Patent Office with custom signage.
HCK2 partnered with VAI architects in the creation of an interior design theme to be used throughout The United States Patent and Trademark Office’s new space. HCK2 was able to create 24 signs in total while meeting budget requirements for the space. The signs channeled the 1930s Art Deco style of the preexisting interior design with bold pops of color, marrying the historic nature of the building with contemporary design. The USPTO was so inspired the signage became the inspiration for their remaining renovation and interior design elements.
